The federal government will create a specific channel for retirees and pensioners who have suffered improper discounts on associative tuition can directly request the reimbursement of values.
The proposal is part of a reimbursement plan prepared by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), with the support of the Attorney General of the Union (AGU) and Dataprev. According to AGU, the project is in the final stages of preparation and will be sent to the Planalto Palace in the coming days.
According to sources involved in the preparation of the plan, the requests will be made directly by the beneficiaries, and the government intends to reimburse the values as soon as possible. After the return, the Union will seek to recover funds through lawsuits against the illegal.
The measure seeks to streamline the return of money and eliminate the need for intermediaries.
This Sunday (4), the new Welfare Minister, Wolney Queiroz, and the president of the INSS, Gilberto Waller, had their first official meeting. The meeting occurs amid pressure for the government to respond to fraud involving associative entities.
On Friday (2), representatives of AGU, INSS and Dataprev gathered to discuss the reimbursement plan and liability procedures of the entities involved.
During the meeting, the opening of Administrative Responsibility Procedures (PARS) against the investigated entities, based on the anti -corruption law. In addition, the AGU determined that the Federal Attorney General’s Office will establish preparatory procedures for administrative misconduct actions.
The meeting was attended by AGU Chief Minister Jorge Messias; the President of Dataprev, Rodrigo Assumpção; and Gilberto Waller.
INSS Fraud
The elaboration of the reimbursement plan happens after the operation without discount, triggered by the Federal Police and the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) on April 23. The investigation revealed up to and pensions between 2019 and 2024.
According to the investigations, they were identified and pensions that were not authorized. The amounts are paid monthly to entities and unions that represent retirees and pensioners.
Due to the operation, they were dismissed and a federal police officer by court order.
On Friday (2), the Minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi, resigned from office. The decision was made during a meeting with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT). On social networks, Lupi thanked Lula for the “trust” and “opportunity”.
“I make this decision with the certainty that my name was not cited at any time in the ongoing investigations, which investigate possible irregularities in the INSS. I make a point of highlighting that all findings have been supported from the beginning by all areas of Social Security, by me and by the Lula administration’s control bodies,” he wrote.
