In a joint campaign of the federal government, states and municipalities mobilize for the D -Day of flu vaccination on Saturday (10). The goal is to expand influenza vaccination coverage.

According to the secretary, more than 672 thousand doses have been applied in Bahia so far, placing the state in fifth position in the national ranking of immunizations against the flu. Sesab’s Epidemiological Surveillance Director, Marcia São Pedro has drew attention to the prevalence of influenza since February.

“From February to March, we started to see more cases of Rinovirus and Influenza. When we vaccinated, we were able to block the transmission of this virus. And the state decided, by preventive action, not only vaccinating against influenza but also against Covid-19,” he emphasized.

COVID-19

In addition to vaccination against flu, the Bahian government also provides reinforcement of vaccination against Covid-19 at vaccination stations and temporary points. This year, Bahia presented 37% reduction in COVID-19 cases compared to the same period of 2024 and 62% over deaths.
