Samir Xaud spoke to CNN on Sunday with Benja, for the first time as future and only candidate for president of CBF, this Sunday (18). “One of my purposes is to put the league out of the paper. I think this league model should already be instituted within Brazilian football. We see other leagues out there, with product in hand,” he said.

“I want 4 years from now, when I leave, I have taken this project out of paper. And for that, I’ll call the clubs to talk. It has to have this interaction between clubs, federations and CBF,” he explained.

Despite the existence of Libra and LFU, the Forte União League, CBF is still responsible for the organization of professional competitions in Brazil, such as Brasileirão, Brazil Cup, Green Cup and Northeast Cup.

“We think of a competition reorganization so we can not suffer from dates. We see this tight calendar,” too. However, he denied that he intends to end state championships.

Xaud presented support from 25 federations and 10 clubs and, thus, made the candidacy of Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos, president of the Paulista Football Federation. The top hat will be elected on Sunday (25), and will start the term the next day.

He also confirmed to Benja that the national team shirt will not be red and that coach Carlo Ancelotti will live in Brazil.
