The Court of Norwegian forbade his profession for an indefinite period of time and decided that he had to compensate for his victims.
On Friday, a court in Norway sentenced a 55-year-old gynecologist to 21 years of imprisonment, who raped dozens of patients for nearly two decades. TASR informs about this, referring to AFP.
Arne Bye was recognized as guilty in 70 cases of rape and sexual attack during gynecological examinations of his patients in 2004-2022. He was also convicted in 80 cases of abuse of his position.
The profession is forbidden to carry out
Bye committed these actions in his ambulance in Frost, while shooting them. By the amount of the sentence, the court granted the requirement of the indictment. The defense demanded a lower punishment claiming that Bye has proven only 20 rapes.
The court also forbade the doctor to pursue an indefinite period of time and decided that he had to compensate for his victims.
In the process, a total of 94 women described how Bye did not affect them without their consent and without justification, which, according to Norwegian legislation, is rape.
