Son of the former minister, the councilman of Gilson Filho (PL) criticized on Monday (16) AE by the minister of the Federal Supreme Court. Three councilors indicated support to the son of the former tourism chief.
Gilson Filho, who is one of the main opponents of Mayor João Campos (PSB), classified Moraes as a “dictator” and received support from councilors of the PSB.
“A persecution without any proof against my father. They claimed that he tried to take a Portuguese passport to, when, in fact, he was taking the renewal of my 85 -year -old grandfather’s passport,” said Gilson Filho,.
Gilson Filho showed a poster with his father’s photo alongside Trump during the statement and also played a copy of the Constitution on the floor. “This is what Moraes does in our country, he takes the constitution and tears. He is finding himself the dictator of Brazil,” he said. “Moraes is looking for all Bolsonaro’s allies to try to incriminate.”
Gilson Filho also criticized precautionary measures decreed by Moraes. “My father cannot leave Recife and live in Jaboatão dos Guararapes. He cannot go to his band’s show, he is an entrepreneur of forró band and has more than ten shows scheduled. He cannot talk to former President Bolsonaro,” he said.
He also stated that his commitment is to elect his father senator in 2026 “and fight these atrocities that the STF is doing”
One of Gilson Machado’s performances is scheduled to take place next week in Caruaru, the main June party site in Pernambuco.
Then, the mayor, Romerinho Jatobá (PSB), one of João Campos’s main allies, gave Gilson Filho solidarity and applauded the speech of the pocket parliamentary. Another PSB councilman, Zé Neto also made gestures of applause for Gilson Filho.
PSB councilor Luiz Eustáquio said “one cannot investigate and already judge”. “To take a passport, I didn’t have to arrest. I was always opposed to any attitude that can tall the right of others, no matter who it is.”
Wanted, the PSB of Pernambuco declined to comment. Mayor João Campos’s advisory said he will not speak and that the subject is “a matter of the House.”
