In an interview with CNNPresident Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), said on Thursday (17), that he does not yet see a crisis between Brazil and the United States.
“Look, I don’t see crisis yet. I think we need to negotiate,” said Lula.
The chief executive also criticized the letter of US President Donald Trump, sent to Lula on July 9 to announce the taxation of 50% of Brazilian products.
“I thought it was fake news, then I saw it was signed by President Trump,” he said.
He also added that he will respond to the republican’s decision “at the time and right time.”
The imposition of surcharge happens from August 1, according to the US President.
