Vienna/Luxembourg-Ex-Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) has now also officially appointed the new Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB). He succeeds the Swedish Vice President Thomas Östros on September 1. His appointment was made at the decision of the finance ministers of the EU countries as the bank’s shareholder after a proposal by Austria, the EIB announced on Tuesday.
