The military was also advisor to federal deputy Eduardo Pazuello (PL-RJ), former Minister of Health of Bolsonaro.
The military man was active in the Bolsonaro government. According to a report by the PF (federal policy), he would be one of the “most radical” names involved in the attempted coup d’état in the country and was influential in camps after Jair Bolsonaro’s defeat in the 2022 election.
He was arrested in November 2024, suspected of preparing a plan to kill authorities.
Green and Yellow Function Plan
The Federal Police launched an operation that revealed the plan to kill authorities in November 2024. According to investigations, the group – mostly formed by Army’s FE (Special Forces) military, the so -called “black kids” – had Lula, Alckmin and Moraes targets.
The murders were planned to take place on December 15, 2022, three days after the petista’s diplomation in the TSE (Superior Electoral Court). The idea was to poison the targets. In addition, the plan provided for the “Institutional Crisis Management Office”, which should be activated on December 16, 2022.
It was also planned to use a war arsenal, with pistols, rifles, machine gun and a gun spear. The operation also revealed that Moraes was constantly monitored.
According to PF (Federal Police) investigations, three copies of the document were printed at the Planalto Palace by the General. Forty minutes later, Fernandes would have been admitted to the Alvorada Palace, official residence of the Presidency of the Republic. There were Jair Bolsonaro and Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid.
The PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) questioned Fernandes about the impression that it was made in three copies and a reprint on another date, one month away from the first.
The general said he does not remember printed more than one copy of the plan and said he believed it was a “printer configuration.” About printing on another date, he said he did so for having a “new idea” and changed the document.
According to investigations by the Federal Police, Jair Bolsonaro had “full knowledge” of the plan.
According to Mauro Cid’s denunciation, Mario Fernandes was one of the generals who most encouraged the Armed Forces to act to try an alleged coup attempt in 2022 to prevent Lula’s possession.
