The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, released this Thursday (June 18, 2026) images of the understanding signed by him and the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to end the war between the two countries. On the social network X, Pezeshkian classified the text as “a historical document” and said that he represents “the message of a strong Iran” According to the Iranian president, peace will be built on mutual respect.
The leader also stated that Iran remains committed to global peace and international cooperation. According to him, the agreement demonstrates that the country preserved its dignity and independence during the negotiations.
“What was recorded today is the result of national resistance, political rationality and responsible diplomacy“, he wrote.
The images released show versions of the memorandum in Persian and English, with spaces for signatures from representatives of the governments of Iran, the United States and the agreement’s mediator.
In addition to the ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the document aims to discuss and gradually ease sanctions imposed by the US.
Earlier, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the agreement immediately after signature by both sides. The White House said Trump signed the memorandum during a visit to the Palace of Versailles, France.
Despite the release of the document, there are still doubts about the official signing ceremony scheduled for Friday (June 19), in Switzerland.
