For the Reutersa senior Israeli official revealed that “stubborn negotiations” are still taking place with the Donald Trump administration over the stay and deployment of these troops in southern Lebanon as they fight Hezbollah.

Israel has denied requests to withdraw troops from Lebanon since it invaded the territory in March in response to attacks by the Lebanese militant group, but, according to Reuters, this is the first time it has published a clear map of the military operation’s expanded areas of control.

The Israeli insistence comes despite the memorandum of understanding signed yesterday by the United States and Iran, which determines an immediate ceasefire on all war fronts, including Lebanon. Trump reiterated the demand today in a publication in Truth Social, while Lebanese President Joseph Aoun announced a new round of peace negotiations with Israel next week in Washington.
