Two whales were sighted this weekend off the source of Telha, Costa da Caparica, in the municipality of Almada. The images show a whale-de-cryde Accompanied by what seems to be a offspring.
The species can be identified by the three longitudinal ridges at the top of the head.
These whales can measure up to 17 meters (the maximum size recorded for this species) and weigh up to 40 tons. As a rule, males are often slightly smaller than females.
