Survey of CNDL and SPC Brasil points out that 106.3 million consumers will spend, on average, R $ 255 per present, with preferential payment for Pix
Approximately 106.3 million consumers will buy gifts for in 2025, equivalent to 65% of the population. The average expense will be R $ 255 per person, according to a survey released this Monday (28.Jul.2025) by CNDL (National Confederation of Shopkeepers) and SPC Brazil. Here’s (PDF – 3MB).
The survey, conducted between June 30 and July 7, shows a reduction of 4.6 million buyers compared to sales volume on Father’s Day 2024.
Physical stores will be the main purchasing channel (76%), especially shopping malls (31%), followed by e -commerce (43%), especially via applications. The clothes lead the list of gifts (44%), followed by perfumes and cosmetics (34%) and shoes (31%). For payment, 76% prefer to buy cash, especially PIX payment (46%), while 39% will install an average of 3.4 times.
Among consumers, 31% intend to spend more. Some because they will give better gifts (58%) and others because the increase in prices causes higher spending (34%). Around 18% will reduce expenses, with 49% indicating that they want to save. The survey also points out that 35% of consumers who go shopping are late and 74% are named after.
“The data indicate that the desire to give to the financial planning, aggravating indebtedness and default situations.”said CNDL finance expert Merula Borges. “It is important to stimulate ways to give compatible with financial reality, so that the gesture of love does not become concern.”
