The gunman killed four security service workers and injured one person in attacking a market with fresh grocery in the Thai metropolis of Bangkok, the police said. TASR informs according to AFP report.
“The police are investigating the motive. So far we consider it mass shooting,” said police management in the Bang Sue district where the shooting occurred.
The shooter committed suicide
The shooter, according to the police, committed suicide and is currently working to identify it. It is also investigated whether this act is not related to the ongoing border struggles between the Thai and Cambodian army.
The attack was on the market OR TOR Kor, near the marketplace of Čatučak, which is the main tourist destination in Bangkok and is filled every weekend by visitors.
Mass shooting is not unusual in Thailand, because firearms can be obtained relatively easily thanks to the lax enforcement of weapon control, AFP notes.
