Almost 900 women die of breast cancer. “Despite the fact that we have been doing ultrasound of the breasts for many years in preventive examinations, the mortality is not decreasing,” Šaško said. Effective mammographic screening is the only method that has been shown to reduce breast cancer mortality, up to 40 percent.
