We haven’t even managed to drink ice coffee and the holidays have already rolled into the second half. While children enjoy summer leave, parents are already thinking about how it will be with the schedule for the next school year. When will the schoolchildren sit back to the benches? And when will you be able to plan more free days for joint trips? Here is an overview of all holidays and free days in the school year 2025/2026, so that you can arrange holidays and holiday babysitting in time.
Summer holidays opened their second half and the parents of schoolchildren are slowly starting to deal with how it will be with the holidays next school year. If you are already planning a holiday or suburban camps, you will use a clear calendar to learn when the children will sit back to the school desks and when they will have time off.

The school will start traditionally in September, the reports will receive children in June
The official date of the beginning of the school year 2025/2026 was set by the Ministry of Education at Monday 1 September 2025. Summer holidays then start on Wednesday 1 July 2026. Until then, however, many shorter and longer breaks are waiting for schoolchildren.
When will the autumn and Christmas holidays be?
Autumn holidays will fall on Monday 27 October and Wednesday 29 October 2025. The public holidays 28 October and November 17 will also continue on them, which means extended weekends for many families.
then they will start on Monday 22 December 2025 and will end on Friday January 2, 2026. After the weekend, the children will return to school on Monday, January 5.
Half -year and spring holidays by districts
Half -year holiday they will be one -day, they fall on Friday, January 30, 2026. A week later, the traditional merry -go -round of spring holidays will start, alternating in individual districts.
Check the exact date according to your residence, because the division changes every year and depends on which part of the country you fall. For example, in our capital, spring holidays will be divided as follows:
- Prague 1-5 has a holiday from 16. Until 22 February 2026
- Prague 6-10 but of 23 February to March 1, 2026
Easter and public holidays in 2026
Easter holiday they will be shorter this time – the free time will only be Thursday 2 April and Easter Monday 6th April 2026.
The overall plan of the school year also includes public holidays that mean free days without teaching:
- May 1.
- May 8 (Winning Day)
Both fall on Fridays, giving space for extended weekends.
The school year then officially ends on Tuesday June 30, 2026when children get a report card. From Wednesday 1 July 2026 The long -awaited summer holidays will begin to last until Monday 31 August 2026. Children will return to school desks on Tuesday September 1, 2026.
