Labor’s Keir Starmer announced this Monday his resignation as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and the call for primary elections for the Labor Party to search for a successor, just two years after the party achieved a landslide electoral victory and ended 14 years of conservative governments. Starmer thus passes on the baton after months of incessant pressure within his own party and in the midst of a free fall in popularity.
