Vienna – A spectacular rescue operation occurred on Friday afternoon in the St. St. Stephen’s Cathedral. A 61-year-old tourist had to be recovered by the Vienna professional fire brigade from the south tower after climbing the 343 steps to the Türmerstube with a group of visitors in order to enjoy the view of the federal capital. At the top, the woman suffered a “medical emergency”, said fire brigade spokesman Gerald Schimpf.
