Action fulfills 17 search and seizure warrants, seizures of electronics and documents and blockade of assets and cryptors
A On Tuesday morning (2), Operation Lauandi, intended to dismantle a criminal organization specializing in cyber frauds, falsification of documents, and money laundering. 17 search and seizure warrants were fulfilled in the cities of São Paulo Votorantim, Ibiúna, Paulinia, Marilia and Peruíbe, as well as Empress/MA. Investigations indicate that the group obtained high illicit gains from fraud against the state, companies and individuals, as well as the commercialization of personal data. The values were sprayed in third party accounts and moved through facade companies, with the support of an accountant, in strategy to make the action of the authorities difficult.
Operation Lauandi is an offshoot of Operation Apateones, launched in March 2023 by the Federal Police in Campinas/SP, which was investigating fraud to emergency aid. At that time, the head of the criminal organization and his wife were arrested in the act for criminal organization and illegal possession of a restricted firearm.
During the action on Tuesday, electronic devices, cell phones, documents, vehicles, cash, bank cards on behalf of third parties and materials used in falsification of documents were seized. Courts were also enforced to kidnap movable and immovable property, blockade bank accounts and crypto custody. Investigated may be responsible for the crimes of document forgery, estelionate, criminal organization and money laundering.
