Petzenkirchen – Austria’s long -serving mayor has announced her resignation. Lisbeth Kern (SPÖ), as a local director of Petzenkirchen (Melk district) since 1996, in office, according to a broadcast on Friday in February 2026, will be handed over to her party colleague, the EU MP Günther Sidl. “It was an honor for me – and almost always a joy – to be active for Petzenkirchen and his people,” said the outgoing mayor.
