A scene of horror was discovered in one in a house where two brothers, only 5 years and 8 months old, lived for weeks with the body of their 8 -year -old sister, already in a state of skeleton, found on the bed. denouncing the mother’s abandonment and negligence. The case occurred at Morro do Urubu, in the neighborhood of Piedade, north of Rio de Janeiro.
The case came to light after the woman’s arrest last Wednesday (3/9). This Friday (5), Judge Laura Noal Garcia converted the arrest in the act in pre-trial detention, highlighting the seriousness of the facts and the need to preserve the physical and psychological integrity of other children.

In her decision, the magistrate stressed that neighbors and relatives were already aware of the mother’s negligence, who would be a user of narcotics and kept the children in unhealthy conditions, without food and hygiene. “Precautionary custody is necessary to guarantee criminal instruction, so that witnesses appear in a fear -free audience and to preserve the physical and psychic integrity of the other descendants of the custodian, which, it seems, were exposed to environment and unhealthy conditions,” said the judge.
Surviving children
Investigations point out that the two surviving children lived with his sister’s corpse, while his mother was absent from home at night. In addition, the woman would have several times prevented the entry of social workers and the Guardianship Council, even after allegations of abuse.
The judge rejected the request for house arrest of the defense, claiming that the accused poses a risk to her own children. The case is still under investigation, while the two minor brothers were rescued and should be accompanied by childhood protection bodies.
