Eight dead and 12 injured are the report of the armed attack on a bus stop at the Remot crossroads, on the east and west border. Between the dead both the perpetrators.
Video from a car camera, communicated by the Israeli Foreign Ministry, showed dozens of men, women and children running from a bus stop and a stopping bus while shooting. The windshield of a second bus is crushed as the shots continue, before armed citizens approach the spot.
Israeli police said “two terrorists arrived by vehicle” and opened fire. A soldier out of service and a citizen retaliated, neutralizing the perpetrators.
Hamas greeted the attack
Israeli media as five men, aged 25 and 79, and a 60 -year -old woman. Local hospitals reported that two of the injured were being treated in serious condition.
No armed organization immediately assumed responsibility, though Hamas welcomed the attack.
During his visit to the spot, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters that Israel is in “a fierce war against terrorism on many fronts. We are now pursued and we are encircling the villages from which the killers came from. We will capture anyone who helped them or send them and take even stricter measures, ”he added.
Officers found “many weapons, ammunition and a knife” used by the perpetrators, who- according to Israeli media- are believed to have come from the villages of Al-Qubeiba and Qatanna of the West Bank, about 10 km west of the Ramot cross.
