Warsaw (Reuters)-Poland slaughtered drones that violated its airspace on Wednesday, being the first time that a member NATO country has shot gunfire during the Russian War in Ukraine.
Poland said 19 objects entered their airspace during a large Russian air strike in Ukraine, and slaughtered those who represented a threat. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he had activated article four of the NATO Treaty that members of the alliance may require consultations with their allies.
“We are dealing with a large -scale provocation,” said Tusk. “We are ready to repel such provocations. The situation is serious, and no one doubts that we should prepare for various scenarios.”

Russian state news agency Ria cited a Russian diplomat who called the accusations of incursion of “unfounded” and said Poland had no proof that the drums were of Russian origin.
Several European authorities described the incursion as intentional and a sign of the Russian climb.
“The fact that these drones, which represented a threat to security, were slaughtered the political situation changes,” said Tusk.

Poland’s Armed Forces Operational Command asked residents to stay at home, with three East regions at a special risk.
Countries bordering Ukraine reported that missiles or russian drones on occasions have entered their airspace in the past during the war, but not on such a large scale, and it is not known if they slaughtered them. Two people were killed in Poland in 2022 by a Ukrainian air defense missile that was out of control.
The Military Command of Poland said the radars tracked more than 10 objects and those that could represent a threat were “neutralized.” In the morning, the command said the operations had been completed.
