The measure had already been announced by the PS government in 2023, but never advanced. The goal is to simplify the use of public transport.
The government is working on creating a national single ticket valid in all public transportrevealed this Tuesday the Deputy Minister and State Reform, GONÇALO MATIASduring a parliamentary hearing in the State Reform and Local Power Commission.
The measure aims to simplify access to mobility and resume a project that had already been announced by the previous socialist executive in 2023, under the designation “1 Bill.pt”.
The PS plan provided for the creation of an intermodal billion platform, capable of compatible tariffs from different regions. However, it was never realized. Asked about the format and calendar of the new initiative, Gonçalo Matias’s office sent details for later.
In addition to the single ticket, the minister highlighted other measures in preparation in the scope of administrative simplification.
One of them is going through the withdrawal of the address of the Single Automobile Document (DUU), thus avoiding frequent fines due to the lack of correspondence between the address on the citizen card and the one registered in the DUU. With the change, only the citizen card will serve as a reference.
Another novelty will be the Automatic House Update in all public services whenever it is changed on the citizen card. Today, this change is only reflected in some systems, forcing citizens to communicate manually to different entities, says.
For companies, a Single Digital Cardwhich will bring together all corporate documentation, a measure already announced by the Prime Minister at Pontal in August.
The minister also spoke in a new unique counter for entrepreneurs, especially digital, but with the possibility of physical support in the citizen stores. Despite criticism that the proposal repeats existing solutions, such as the entrepreneur’s counter, Matias ensured that it is a “completely new” tool.
The criticism of the opposition, particularly about the repetition of promises made by previous governments, were relativized by the Executive. “It is not a big problem to announce measures already announced before, because We are executing them and giving them follow-up, ”said the minister.
