MG Bank breaks record and reaches R $ 1.77 billion in financing

State development institution reduced rates, launched products and encouraged the creation of 45,000 job openings

In the 1st semester of 2025, the (Minas Gerais Development Bank) released a record volume of R $ 1.77 billion in financing, strengthening about 3.2 million companies and municipalities from all over the state. The result is 23% higher than the same period of 2024, which had already been unpublished.

The president of BDMG, Gabriel Viégas Neto, points out that the numbers are even more relevant considering the challenging economic scenario. “By 2025, we reduced the rate of some credit lines and presented to the market in terms of more flexible products and payment terms. BDMG acts in tune with the needs of mining entrepreneurs, who invested more even in the face of economic challenges.”He said, noting that the bank was present with operations in 90% of the 853 municipalities of Minas Gerais.

The balance disclosed on Tuesday (9.Set.2025) indicates that the total number of companies that sought credit to increase businesses rose 10% from January to June this year. For micro and small companies, R $ 278 million were released, up 20% compared to the 1st semester of 2024. Another highlight was the 38% increase in agribusiness financing, a sector that demanded almost half of the bank’s all disbursement in the period.

BDMG also reached an unprecedented volume of funding in the 1st semester, totaling R $ 1.45 billion. The amount represents 30% growth compared to the same period of the previous year and a brand never reached for this interval.

More profit and jobs

The increase in credit release by the bank allowed new investments, works and projects, which turbocharged entrepreneurs’ revenues, warmed the state economy and, above all, positively impacted the lives of miners. In the 1st semester of 2025, the institution’s performance contributed to the creation of 45,000 jobs throughout the state, to the revenues of R $ 3.2 billion of companies and stimulated the collection of R $ 1.6 billion in ICMS, according to the input matrix of the institution.

Veste CW is an example of how access to financing can transform a business. At the uniforms factory and personalized T -shirts of businessman Washington Ribeiro, in the Barreiro region, in Belo Horizonte, revenues rose 20% after the acquisition of embroidery machines in 2023.

Before, part of the production was outsourced, which increased costs and deadlines. With the machines, the company started to produce internally, expanded the capacity to 7,000 pieces per month and had to increase staff from 5 to 18 employees.

“Embroidery is essential for our business. With machines, we have been able to reduce up to 40% of the cost, reduce the deadline of deliveries, offer new services and generate more jobs,” says Washington. For him, the differentiated fees and the transparency of the bank were decisive: “BDMG understands the needs of the microentrepreneur and offers several credit options. Being able to clearly and understand the payment terms made all the difference.”
