Bombings, missiles, drones and artillery
The Israeli army launched a land offensive on Monday to take the city of Gaza, the largest urban center in the Strip, as reported by the American media Axios, citing Israeli officials.
The Israeli prime minister, Benjamín Netanyahu, ordered the army last month to take Gaza City, which describes as a bastion of the Palestinian militia Hamás, after Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023. Since then, the army has besieged the strip, creating a humanitarian catastrophe with generalized destruction, mass displacements and a serious shortage of food and water.
The attacks during the night have combined air bombings with missiles and drones and artillery attacks, as well as shots from helicopters, while the sky of the Gazatí capital has illuminated on numerous occasions with army flares that called the evacuation of the city.
The hardening of the attacks has affected the Shati refugee camp, those of such to the Hawa, to the Maghribi or the Sabra, Sheikh Radwan and in Al Karama. The authorities of the Strip have not yet disseminated data from the deceased because of the resurgence of the bombing. During the night, local sources have indicated to Efe that the Israeli tanks advanced and progressively retreated from the periphery of Ciudad de Gaza to win ground, although the army has not yet confirmed having definitely launched its land operation against the capital.
