Luiz Gustavo, who had suffered pulmonary thromboembolism and was unable to act since April, was released by the medical department for the final stretch of the season.
According to a statement issued by the club, “the player went through an appointment with a specialist doctor on the afternoon of last Monday (15) and received release to return to activities without any restrictions from Saturday (20), when the process of removing the anticoagulant medication that had been receiving since April.”
– Luiz Gustavo had been fulfilling a specific recovery protocol where he could work with the rest of the cast in ball activities, but with impact restriction – continued.
The 38 -year -old should not play in the departure against LDU in the quarterfinals of Libertadores. However, there are chances that the veteran is on the field for the duel of the return, in Morumbis, next week.
