Three regions of Rio have power outage on Tuesday (16/9)

At least three regions of Rio de Janeiro were affected with in the early hours of Tuesday (16/9). According to Light, the concessionaire responsible for energy distribution, a “occurrence in a transmission line” in part of the center, in the North and South Zone, at 3:45.

According to the company, only excerpts from streets of Tijuca and Vila Isabel are without energy. Teams are acting to restore supply as soon as possible. Light also reported that it investigates the causes.

The company did not report how many customers were affected by the lack of light, nor if there is a forecast to normalize the situation.

On social networks, residents of different neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro complained about the power outage. “Centro of the whole dark river… I put my face in the window and even other neighborhoods without light. Apparently it was blackout in RJ,” published a netizen.
