German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called on Wednesday Europe not allowing Russia to dictate the conditions of peace agreement in Ukraine. In his words, it would only encourage Russian President Vladimir Putin, “to seek his next goal”. The DPA news agency informed about it, TASR writes.
“Putin has long been testing the boundaries,” He said Merz during the debate in the German parliament. “Saboting, spying, murdering, trying to cause uncertainty,” declared the office.
According to him, it turned out last week in Poland, when Russian drones disrupted the airspace of the country. Putin, however, is trying to disrupt the stability of the German society, warned Merz. “But we won’t allow it,” He stressed the office, saying that Germany is for this reason strengthening its durability and defense capacities.
“We must discourage our opponents from another aggression while bringing the Allies and partners closer to each other,” added. Germany is one of the strongest supporters of Ukraine after Russia’s invasion of February 2022, DPA added. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said last week that his country has already overcome the US and is currently the biggest supplier of Military Aid Kiev.
