Chrysanthemums, also known as goldenness. When the days become shorter, they go from a vegetative growth to a generative mode, which means: they begin to prepare buds and bloom. Thanks to this, balconies and terraces, so far bathed in green and summer color, gain warm colors. Flowers chrysanthemums are a whole palette of colors: from yellow and orange to burgundy and gold.
Chrysanthemums bloom long, from August to November, and even until December. To extend this process, you must meet several conditions. Put a pot in a well -lit place. It can be a bright balcony or terrace. At home, the flowers will stay shorter, because dry air from radiators can harm them.
Chrysanthemums tolerate drought, so their ground should be slightly moist. The roots of these plants are shallow, so the lack of water will hurt them very quickly. However, do not allow flooding and pouring so as not to rotate the roots. Potts must have drainage holes and drainage, thanks to which the plant will be easier to manage water. Regular watering and light supply with fertilizer will support abundant and healthy flowering.
Chrysanthemum flowering can be extended regularly by removing faded flowers. The plant will not “waste” energy to maintain them and focus on creating new buds. When the temperatures begin to fall, cut the pot and cover the plants at the base with a layer of litter or agrotextile. Chrysanthemums are plants of a short day, so additional lighting can harm them and shorten flowering.
