Deputies who voted in favor of the armage PEC even apologize

The approval of the House Shield PEC on Tuesday generated a strong reaction on social networks and led deputies from different parties to back down and even apologize for the favorable vote. Digital mobilization, which involved artists, civil society entities and ordinary users, pressured parliamentarians and exposed internal divisions on both the left and right.

Deputy Silvye Alves (Union-GO) announced that she will leave the party after admitting that she changed her vote under pressure. She said she was initially against PEC, but received calls from “influential people” threatening retaliation. “I was cowardly, gave the pressure,” he said on a video on social networks, apologizing to voters.

Merlong Solano (PT-PI) also justified the support, stating that he tried to enable agendas such as income tax exemption and the taxation of super rich. However, he acknowledged that the strategy failed and signed, along with Pedro Campos (PSB-PE), a writ of mandamus at the STF to nullify the vote.

Pedro Campos admitted error of political calculation. He said the progressive field tried to negotiate changes to block amnesty and soften controversial points, but was defeated both in PEC and amnesty vote.

Another retreating was Thiago de Joaldo (PP-SE), who said he reflected after criticism from experts and voters. “I recognize that I failed, I apologize and work to correct,” he said.

Bites consultancy survey shows that PEC has generated 1.6 million mentions since Tuesday, with the left dominating the online debate. Nevertheless, the repercussion was restricted to the political field, without widely achieving those who do not follow the theme. The mobilization, however, helped consolidate opposition to the Senate bill, including right-wing parliamentarians, according to André Eleg, deputy director of Bites.

Artists like Anitta and Caetano Veloso also joined the campaign against PEC. Caetano even called the proposal “PEC of the banditry” and defended popular demonstrations.

Data from the consultancy Archimedes point out that 89% of the profiles engaged in the debate were linked to the progressive field. Another 4% were non -scholarship, as MBL supporters, critical to the text. Already Bolsonarist profiles, which represented 7%, sought to justify the agreement to approve the amnesty.
