United Kingdom, Canada and Australia formally announced on Sunday (21) the recognition of the Palestinian state, in a coordinated movement that increases the pressure on Israel to relieve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The decision, which occurs on the eve of the UN General Assembly, places these countries in disagreement with the Trump administration, which opposes the measure and prefers to focus on the liberation of hosts held by Hamas.
The initiative should also have the support of France and Portugal during the UN meeting, deepening the diplomatic isolation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
