As part of the 121-year anniversary program of Cruzeiro do Sul, Mayor Zequinha Lima reopened on Monday, 22, the Terezinha Saavedra Integral Education School, in the Saboeiro neighborhood, and Rita de Cássia, in Cruzeirão. The city’s investment in the renovation of the two schools, along with the acquisition of Nova furniture, was R $ 2.1 million.
The solemnities were attended by deputy mayor Delcimar Leite, state deputy Nicolau Júnior, councilors, municipal secretaries, managers, teachers, students and community.
The student Otávio Lima, from Terezinha Saavedra School, highlighted the transformation in the school routine. “I thank you very much for the renovation of our school. Before we had less time to study, and now, with full -time school, it has improved a lot. We have more time to learn and with a totally renewed school,” he emphasized.
Junior Saavedra, son of the educator who names school, was thrilled with recognition. “It is an honor to be here witnessing the reopening of this school that has the name of my mother. Seeing this school preserved and receiving investments from the municipality is a source of great happiness for our family,” he said.
The manager of the teaching unit, Emerson de Lima, stressed the positive impacts on the community. “Families feel safer and still have the novelty of the English discipline, which is offered in our municipal schools. Today we serve 130 students in this modality, with a grid of 15 subjects,” he explained.

Rita de Cassia School Manager Maria Aparecida thanked for the reform.
“This moment is very important for all of us, because it marks a new trajectory of the teaching of our school, adapting the space to the new modality of education, ensuring an appropriate space for students and staff,” he said.
Student Priscila dos Santos, mentions that the school is now more complete.
“I want to thank you for everything our mayor Zequinha did for our school, for this concern and care for our community. I want to thank because now we have a complete school, with much better teaching, food, and all renovated,” he said.
State Representative Nicolau Júnior highlighted the good use of resources in the education of the municipality. “Mayor Zequinha has commitment and management shows results. We have been walking side by side with the city and today it is a joy to participate in the reopening of these schools, which provide such an important service to the community,” he said.
For Mayor Zequinha Lima, the delivery of the two schools represents a breakthrough in municipal education. “It is an honor to divide this moment with the whole community. These are schools that adopt the integral system, where children enter 7h and leave at 2:40 pm, with meals and the opportunity to learn a foreign language. Staying more time at school, students are more able to learn and prepare for the future. In addition, they were practically rebuilt, ensuring adequate infrastructure. expanding and reconstructing schools to further strengthen municipal education, ”he said.
Full -time schools offer extended journey, food and English teaching in the municipal network
The full -time teaching model adopted by the Cruzeiro do Sul City Hall expands the student’s permanence at school and strengthens the learning process. In units that work in this format, students arrive at 7 am and stay until 2:40 pm, with food during the period, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack.
In addition to the traditional curriculum, schools offer an expanded workload, which enables the inclusion of new subjects, such as English teaching, novelty in the municipal network. This structure guarantees students a more complete training, while giving families tranquility, as children remain in a safe, educational and supervised environment.
The two teaching units were renovated to ensure the necessary structure. The service included floor change, lining, coverage, enlargement of kitchens and cafeterias, air conditioning, building bathrooms with showers.
The purpose of municipal management is to expand the integral education model to other schools in the network, ensuring that more children have access to quality education, modern and aligned with the demands of the future. And the forecast is that 100% of schools will be renovated in the next three years of management.
