KDH refuses to participate in a general strike: warns against economic consequences

The general strike should not prepare and announce political parties. It is a matter of employers and trade unionists. The Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) will commemorate 17 November in the squares. In response to the calls of the opposition party SaS to participate in November 17 at the General Strike, the chairman of the KDH Milan Majerský said this. TASR informed the KDH Communication Department.

  • The general strike should not be organized by political parties.
  • KDH stresses that the strike would cause economic damage.
  • The KDH movement criticizes the consolidation of family and seniors.
  • SaS calls for a general strike against the current government.
  • The SaS movement indicates several ways of participating in the strike.

“At the same time, the general strike would bring huge economic damage, and ultimately it would worsen the state of public finances and pay for it just those we want to protect: families, children, seniors or sole traders,” warned the movement.

As the movement has declared, responsible decisions always approach with the discretion. The struggle against consolidation leads through political and value tools – fairly, fair, but uncompromisingly. “KDH has long and clearly says that this consolidation is unfair and heartless, because it fits the most on families with children, seniors and the weakest. The government has chosen again the easiest way – instead of saving on itself, takes those who defend themselves,” The Christian Democrats declared.

The opposition party SaS calls on 17 November to the General Strike. According to its chairman Branislav Gröhling, people are applying for him and employers are also heard. Gröhling said that the strike should not be imagined as the one in 1989 and understands that not every citizen will be able to participate. According to him, consent to the strike can be expressed otherwise.
