A cooling tower of the old Hartsville nuclear project in the American state of Tennessee was placed below this week through a controlled implosion that lasted only 10 seconds.
The 165 -meter -high structure had been erected in the 70s to a nuclear center that never went into operation. For its demolition more than 400 pounds of explosives were used in a process carefully planned to make the way to future projects on site.
The moment of the tower’s impressive fall was recorded on video and is already circulating on social networks.
With the push of a button, the 540’ cooling tower in Hartsville, TN, safely came down this morning. The iconic structure was removed to make the Hartsville site safer and ready for tomorrow’s potential opportunities. ⚡🏗️
