”The Brazilian government greets the states of recognition of the state of Palestine by France, Belgium, Andorra, Luxembourg, Malta and Monaco, during the participation of its leaders at the International High Level Conference for the peaceful solution of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two state solution in New York.
The growing group of countries that recognize the state of Palestine – as Brazil did in 2010 – brings together nations that consider the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, especially the right to self -determination, an essential step towards guaranteeing peace and stability in the Middle East.
Brazil expresses the expectation that the recognition of the State of Palestine, already carried out by 159 countries, will give a decisive political impetus for the implementation of the solution of two states. In this way, all the countries that have not yet made it follow the same path. It also points out that the viability of the solution of two states depends on immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, release of remaining hostages, unimpeded access to humanitarian aid and complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory. ”
