Federal Deputy Paulinho da Força (Solidarity -SP), rapporteur of the case that judges the convicts for acts on January 8, 2023, said that the PL (bill) of amnesty – renamed the deputy as “PL of Dosimetry” – should be voted next week.
“Our forecast was to vote tomorrow [quarta]only then the agenda was locked, we talked to Hugo [Motta] today [ontem]. I came with him in the morning from Sao Paulo. And we should work until tomorrow and prepare so we can, if possible, vote next week. But it depends on him to know exactly which day, ”he said.
After meeting with the PL bench on Tuesday (23), the deputy stated that his rapporteur should follow the reduction of penalty of the convicts, not an amnesty.
The change in dosimetry, however, is rejected by the opposition, especially by PL, party of former President Jair Bolsonaro. The leader of the House bench, Sostenes Cavalcante (PL-RJ), said that it rules out support for a proposal that only reduces penalties and does not promote a wide amnesty.
Also on Tuesday, the PT manifested, by note, against a possible reduction in the dosimetry of the penalties of the convicts.
The acronym has been opposed to “any reduction in penalty for those who planned coup and attempted murder of the President of the Republic, vice president and president of the Superior Electoral Court.”
The rapporteur’s expectation is to listen to all the benches later this week, as well as relatives of convicted by January 8. Last Tuesday, the deputy met with the countertops of PL, MDB and Republicans. This Wednesday, Paulinho should be to meet with members of PT, União Brasil and PP.
Asked who should be contemplated with the benefit of the reduction, Paulinho denied that the House assumes to “release terrorists”. He stated, however, that most people condemned by the acts of January 8, 2023 should be contemplated.
“These people, the vast majority, say so, you can’t say them all, but the vast majority I’m sure they will get out of jail,” he said.
