United States President Donald Trump said Ukraine has been able to recover all lost territory to Russia since the invasion of Vladimir Putin. “Putin and Russia are in serious economic problems, and this is the time for Ukraine to act,” the American wrote on his social network.
Trump, who met with the Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky on Tuesday (23) during the UN General Assembly in New York, said Moscow proves to be a “paper tiger” in the face of Ukrainian resistance, which has financial support from the European Union and NATO.
Trump’s statement represents a change of stance, after he spent most of the year insisting that the situation of Ukraine was serious. The American even scolded Zelensky publicly in the White House, saying that the Ukrainians had no “the letters” to overcome a larger and more populous nation.

In August, Trump extended a red carpet to Russian President Vladimir Putin during a summit in Alaska in which a solution to the conflict was promised. But since then, negotiations have not left the place.
“Great Spirit”
In Tuesday’s post, Trump pointed out that, despite being a military power, Russia has not been able to advance significantly in more than three and a half years of war, which demonstrates the fragility of the Russian war effort.
“With time, patience and the financial support of Europe, the original borders since where this war began are a viable option,” said the US president, noting that Ukraine has a “great spirit” and is increasingly strengthened.

In addition, Trump accused China of sponsoring the war by acquiring Russian oil, which, according to him, directly finances Putin’s war machine.
The US president also argued that NATO countries should overthrow Russian planes that violate their airspace in response to recent Russian forays into allied territories, increasing tension in the region.
The president of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, also commented on the situation during the Assembly, stating that she talked to Trump about the Russian “provocations” in European airspace and the need to quickly cut moscow revenues from fossil fuels. Both agreed to strengthen the joint response against Russian actions.
