Unemployed young people, under 30 years old, who find work will be able to accumulate up to 35% of the monthly value of the unemployment allowance with the salary. The measure comes into force on Wednesday.

This is “an exceptional measure of encouraging work to work”, intended for young people under the age of 30 ”, who are registered as unemployed at the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) and who receive unemployment allowance.

Thus, if they conclude a contract after the entry into force of this Ordinance, the beneficiaries may receive a Support corresponding to 35% of the monthly amount of the unemployment allowance in the case “to conclude an end -term employment contract”.

Or, as can read in a decree published in Diário da República, this Tuesday, can receive a Support corresponding to 25% of the monthly amount of the unemployment allowance, “in case of conclusion of an employment contract or an uncertain term employment contract”.

The purposes of this support are the young people who have entered into a “full -time” contract after the entry into force of this Ordinance are eligible “With a duration of six months or more” and whose contract “be celebrated with entities that have registered activity in Portugal Continental, and since comply with Portuguese labor legislation ”.

Objective is to reduce young unemployment

According to the government, the objective of this measure aims to simultaneously “Promote professional reintegration, reduce the average duration of unemployment, improve placement rates and contribute to the rationalization of public expense with social benefits”..

This measure It comes into force on Wednesday and in force until June 30, 2026.
