The municipal council of the Lower Austrian municipality of Wiener Neustadt decided on Tuesday evening in a meeting to sell the majority of the city’s community apartments. The reason is the ailing condition of the houses – and also the city treasury. Mayor Klaus Schneeberger (ÖVP) said that the city’s 2,192 municipal apartments of the city had caused up to four million euros in financial departures in recent years.
