The Minister of Health, avoided commenting on Tuesday (7) about the case of the rapper, 34, after twists in the diagnosis of intoxication by. Earlier, the artist’s advisory confirmed the presence of the substance in laboratory tests. “I will not discuss a specific case. There is hospital staff taking care of this case. This team has oriented the family. I had said that the first tests did not identify methanol presence,” said Padilha.
The minister added that the team announced today that “one of the tests identified a certain dosage of methanol, but the government of (GDF) still considers this case as discarded.” “There are other exams that can be performed yet and if the GDF changes the position, we will consider this. Other exams can better clarify this case,” he concluded, during a press conference at the Planalto Palace.
Hungary was subjected to the entire methanol poisoning protocol, including antidote administration (ethanol) and preventive hemodialysis, even with divergent diagnoses.
On Monday (6), the Ministry of Health had ruled out intoxication, stating that the Toxicological Reference Center of the Unified Health System (SUS) found no methanol or derivatives in the rapper’s blood samples. The Federal District Civil Police (PCDF) also ruled out the presence of methanol in the beverages ingested by the artist.
However, on Tuesday (7), the rapper’s advisory issued a note stating that laboratory tests performed by the Richet Laboratory of Rede D’Or, released on October 6, detected blood methanol (0.54 mg/dL), above the reference limit (0.25 mg/dL).
“The result confirms the exposure to the substance, and the medical team awaits counter -appearance exams. However, other expert examinations will still be performed to verify any falsification of labels, counterargules, stamps, seals and liquid itself,” the advisory concluded. The case is closely followed by health authorities, while Hungary recovers from the clinical condition presented.
