16 units of the Madrid Fire Brigade intervened on the spot, which were deployed to ensure debris, prevent further collapses and search for potentially spilled people. Search dogs and drones were also used. According to RTVE, the office building was supposed to be converted into a hostel for tourists. The city issued a license for its new use in February.
