Evangelical leader says he honored agreement by voting for MP – 10/08/2025 – Panel

Former leader of the evangelical bench in , the deputy (Republicanos-AM) stated that the increase in taxes to honor the agreement made in (7).

The opposition, managed to approve the removal of the provisional measure from the agenda by 251 votes to 193. In the party of the president of the Chamber, (Republicanos-PB), there were 29 votes in favor of withdrawing the agenda and nine against, including Silas Câmara.

Asked about the vote, the deputy stated that, in Congress, a committed word still counts. “In the commission, we made an agreement to withdraw the status of article 71 and the issue of decree 12,527 [seguro-defeso]which as it stood, would harm 105 thousand fishing families in Amazonas and also 205 entities representing fishermen”, he said.

“We worked on the texts of the report for the best possible resolution within the final objective. Therefore, my party released me to honor the agreement made in the commission. And that is what I did, I honored the word given in the agreement”, he said.
