Minister of Culture Martina Šimkovičová (SNS nominee) presented the Minister of Culture for 2024 on Thursday. It awarded to nine individuals and institutions in three categories, one of which in memoriam. The event took place in the hall of the Ministry of Culture (MK) of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava with the participation of Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD), Vice-Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Andrej Danko (CIS) and other guests. TASR informed the director of the Department of Communication of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic Petra Demková.
The head of the Ministry of Culture emphasized the importance of appreciation of personalities, which, by their work, expertise and devotion, significantly contribute to the development of Slovak culture and artistic life. In her speech she recalled that Culture is not only part of society, but its basic value that shapes thinking, develops sensitivity, combines generations and contributes to building the identity of the nation.

The head of the department awarded two prizes for the exceptional contribution of institutions in the field of cultural heritage or cultural-educational activities.
