Actress Maria Henrique sparked controversy when she publicly responded to jokes made by Joana Marques and her colleagues on the program “As Três da Manhã”, on Rádio Renascença. After being mentioned for the second time, first under the heading “Extremely Unpleasant” and more recently under “Sorry, but you’ll have to ask”, the actress published a video in which she left harsh criticisms of the radio hosts.
In the video, Maria Henrique begins by ironizing the announcers’ style and stating that she is worried about three girls who are lacking content. Referring to Ana Galvão, Inês Lopes Gonçalves and Joana Marques, the actress recalls the journey of each one, highlighting that one of them was Filomena Cautela’s assistant and attacking Joana Marques with a derogatory comment: “She’s the one who they say has a husband but looks like his daughter, because she doesn’t have a neck or anything.”
Despite saying that she has always admired the work of the three and that she even had fun with the first episode where she was mentioned, Maria Henrique seemed uncomfortable at once again being the target of imitation by Inês Lopes Gonçalves. According to her, repetition demonstrates a lack of originality: “Those who repeat themselves are because they no longer know what to talk about.”
The actress, with a 34-year career, assured that she has much more experience and a good radio voice and suggested that she could do a humorous roast on the radio broadcasters, saying she was available to participate in a show dedicated to the topic.
On social media, reactions were divided between those who applaud Maria Henrique’s boldness and those who consider the comments directed at Joana Marques and her colleagues unnecessary and offensive.
