An unusual situation at a Portuguese university is generating outrage on social media. A student decided to confront a teacher after she refused to accept an excused absence, even though she knew the student had been absent because her son was sick.
The teacher asked whether the student could have left her child with her grandparents. Faced with the explanation that the parents also work, the teacher responded that “then they shouldn’t have had children”.
The student ended up leaving the classroom, but not before insulting the teacher, being applauded by the other students.
