The weekend will bring a slight cooling, but gradually more sun. On Saturday (October 18), a cold front will move further south to southeast across Slovakia. At night and in the morning in the north and east it will rain in several places, elsewhere only occasionally. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) informed about it on the social network.
“However, the amount of precipitation will be small, mostly falling to three millimeters. It will clear up in most areas in the afternoon and especially in the evening.” meteorologists said.
On Sunday (19 October) the center of the high pressure will move further southeast through SR, so sunny weather will prevail according to SHMÚ. In the morning and afternoon there will be fog or low clouds. Daily highs will be 11 to 16 degrees on Saturday, in the north mostly around nine degrees Celsius. Meteorologists expect it to be about two degrees colder on Sunday. “Sunday morning will be cold, occasionally freezing in the lowlands,” they pointed out.
During the weekend and at the beginning of next week, according to SHMÚ, there will be a rebuilding of dominant pressure formations. For more than a week, the high pressure area has been located in the area of the British Isles, and colder air flowed along its edge to Slovakia from the northern latitudes.
“Over the weekend and early next week it will move across our area to the Black Sea, but at the same time it will weaken. In the area of the British Isles and the North Sea, a large and deep depression will deepen and along its front warmer but also wetter air will begin to flow from the southwest into Central Europe,” experts stated.
