The growing need for special processors for artificial intelligence (AI) has given TSMC a surprisingly significant jump in profits. The world’s largest chip contract manufacturer announced on Thursday that net earnings rose by around 39 percent in the third quarter to the equivalent of 12.65 billion euros. Sales announced last week grew at a similar rate. It also reached a record high of 27.83 billion euros.
