Paul Daniel “Ace” Frehley, founder and guitarist of the iconic rock band Kiss, has died at the age of 74, according to a statement released by his family this Thursday (16). The musician died from injuries suffered after a fall last month.
Known by the nickname “Space Ace”, Frehley was a key player in the formation of Kiss in 1972, alongside Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. The band revolutionized rock with their theatrical performances, characteristic makeup and shows full of explosions and visual effects.
Born in the Bronx, New York, Frehley received his first electric guitar in 1964 and, influenced by icons such as Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, developed a unique style that made him a reference in rock.
