Carpet washing without a vacuum cleaner. How to quickly refresh it at home?

When clean, it is a beautiful interior decoration, but you need to take care of it so that it lasts as long as possible. Well, you need to bear in mind that the carpet is an excellent habitat for dust mites and dust. Sometimes, a moment of inattention is enough for a stain to appear on it. Then it is necessary to wash the carpet, but not everyone has access to a vacuum cleaner, which is certainly a simple and effective way to refresh our carpet. However, the carpet can also be washed without a vacuum cleaner. But instead of using foams or liquids, which can certainly be purchased in any drugstore, it is definitely better to use home methods for washing the carpet.

Two home ways to wash a carpet

One of these home remedies involves washing the carpet with a dishwasher tablet and is extremely simple. How to do it? First, vacuum your carpet thoroughly. Boil water in a small pot and add one capsule. When it dissolves completely, dip a cloth in the solution, gently wring out excess water and wrap it around the pot lid. Then thoroughly wipe the carpet surface with the lid wrapped in this way. Remember to rinse it with the prepared liquid from time to time. When you’re done, leave the rug to dry and you’re done. You can also use a mixture of water, baking soda and vinegar, which will quickly refresh the carpet and remove unpleasant odors and stains. Mix two tablespoons of baking soda and a glass of vinegar with 0.5 liters of water. Pour the mixture into a bottle with a diffuser, spray it on the carpet surface and rub it in gently. When it dries, after about 60 minutes, vacuum your carpet thoroughly.

Ways to remove stains from the carpet

Baking soda will not only perfectly refresh the carpet, neutralizing any unpleasant odors, but will also easily clean stains and make it fluffy and soft as new. If there are visible stains on your carpet that are extremely difficult to get rid of, try a home remedy to remove them. Cover greasy stains with potato flour and leave for 30 minutes. The flour will absorb the fat and the stain will disappear. For difficult-to-remove stains, a solution of water and vinegar is also recommended.

In addition to thoroughly washing the carpet and removing stains, it is also worth refreshing it from time to time to restore its fluffiness and former appearance. It’s definitely helpful here. How to do it? You can read about it below this gallery.

Once a month I sprinkle the carpet with a strainer. It’s fluffy and still looks brand new

In addition to the home methods for washing a carpet described above, it can also be done dry, i.e. without water. Once a month, I sprinkle baking soda over the entire surface of my carpet using a strainer. Then use a brush or cloth gently. After 4 hours, I thoroughly vacuum the baking soda from the carpet using the crosswise method. Baking soda will not only perfectly refresh the carpet, neutralizing any unpleasant odors, but will also easily clean stains and make it fluffy and soft as new.
