According to the study, 46.4% of adult Acreans are in default — an index that puts the state ahead of federative units such as Mato Grosso, Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará and São Paulo.
At the opposite extreme, Santa Catarina leads the ranking as the state with the lowest percentage of defaulters in the country, with 32,9% of the adult population in this condition.
The indicator integrates the axis “Social Sustainability” of the survey and aims to assess the level of debt and payment capacity of consumers. The data helps to measure the financial health of Brazilian families and point out how economic stability influences the competitiveness of states.
